  • When a robot becomes a creature and would I choose her over Paulina Andreeva (Паулина Андреева)? Who knows.

    Arisa, the robot wife in the Netflix series “Better than us”, or in Russian: “Лучше, чем люди” (Better than human beings). A prototype created to solve the Chinese problem of too many men.

  • The one child policy had parents to do away their unborn or newly born daughters, leading to a later shortage of marriageable women.

    The beautiful robot with her beautiful skin would go all the way to provide all a man needs and make him happy. And so Arisa, lost in Russia, met a little girl and decided to serve all her needs and later her father’s and brother’s.

  • She saw them as her family and with complete devotion she not only gave them everything they needed, but she would defend them as well. Nobody would harm her family. The little girl loved Arisa and appreciated all she did. Her father was not an easy task to fulfill. He was totally indifferent towards her. She was a machine after all.   • Back in the 80’s UB Duran started writing compositions rather than Pop Songs. He so elegantly navigated through the Punk and New Wave era. Then at the start of the new century UB somehow lost his voice. Fortunately in 2016 the sweet and lovely Beep* screamed his guts out of his pants and in the awakening of 2017 UB Duran started writing inspiring songs again. Another beautiful lady, Fren, kept him going and we’ll see what streets will cross UB’s path in the future. Plus, will he ever unveil the richness of his past..?

  • Duet vocals: The Lovely Renate gives Beep*, Fren and Shennika their lovely voices.

    Gear: UB Duran sings and plays the bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitars, bought himself a nice stage piano, gets his additional sounds from Apple Logic and occasionally blows a mouthorgan and melodica. And there you go.

    By the way: In his daily life, UB goes by the Dutch name: Huub van Duuren.
