    WHAT = LIFE
  • Finally 19 Year old UB boy sees more than one colour. A colourful garden full of flowers stretches to the Far East. UB finds his way by walking the paths in between. It’s Honesty that paved these paths. Wow, that gives hope!

  • September 1982  We made it all the way to September again! A new home. UB boy now lives with his grandmother. In his new room he smokes a cigarette with his beautiful cousin to celebrate this joyful feat.

  • October 1982  UB boy’s method of deduction and having his brains crunch codes take over the poor boy himself. He needs chaos. And he needs to distinguish the boys and girls that see what he sees.

  • November 1982  One thing deduction delivers for sure is a guide to how life really works under the hood. It may be disillusioning, it rolls out a neat path however. That path asks UB boy to be honest. To the bone. Only then can he catch a glimpse of the exit of this dreadful era and the nice & warm way that should follow. Funny, that he doesn’t spot any fellow travelers?

  • January 1983  UB boy finds a girlfriend with a very sweet look. A punk girl. Catching each others eyes, he instantly knows they will be friends forever. Undeniably a firm base. UB Boy puts his mind to it again and succesfully picks up her language and so bridges the canyon between them.

  • February 1983  So UB boy’s fairly liberal school merged with a traditional school. That’s where the punk boys and girls are. That’s where he picked his punk flower. He apparently built power over the years. People look up to him and so it feels very powerful. A very nice base. However, UB boy lives on top. And where do you go from there?

  • March 1983  UB boy has to kill his own darlings. He has to move on. On to a next garden. Without brakes he travels faster. Into the dark again. For Christ sake, how many times will he ride this trail?

  • April 1983  Although his new school is friendly, his old schoolmates became punk one by one. From behind the window UB boy sees one of them. A nice girl, together they used to click well. From behind the glass he can’t reach her. Gosh, he wished he could escape with her to Berlin. The place for punks to be!

  • What Life = Colours 1982-1983
    Colours come from East
    So this is my pink room. A new born room still empty. There's some pink on the wall. It reflects the light. I will grow in there. Join and smoke the cigarette to fill this just sprouted thin air with your being voice. Listen to the smoke. In this 10/8 time I'm tipping around you. Colours come from East rejoining the grey twittering sounds. Hey I want you to undress! Show me your roundings that I can kiss you all over. Your face, your nipples, your fragile triangle. Let me into your body. Let me into your packing. Life is just an exception in life. A moment of its own colour. Thus we will paint this room today to grow the colouring in my mind.

    The waltz of life
    The waltz of life. Beyond intelligence there mustn't be brains. They keep me dancing. The waltz beats the rhythm of my clock. The missing fourth keeps me dancing. ..It's the chaos.. ..must enchaos.. Eve. Happiness-eve. Chaos stalagmite. Out of the masses as dark as blind. And they better stay. The better I'm able to distinguish my bright friends. ..It's the chaos.. ..must enchaos.. ..need the chaos..

    The Honest Way
    Intermezzo. Blow my nose. And everyone seems so grey. Manoeuvering through the days and the air is fresh, manoeuvering through the flesh. Estimating their minds, analyse them, testing, finally a possibility to put into practice. It's good to be honest. It's good to be honest. It's good to be...then why I’m alone? In the name of God they ridicule mine. It makes me move to the room, the tiny little room. I know. This is my world. And I'll splash it all over. So they can embellish it to themselves again. If honesty is the right way, then why I'm alone?

    Built me a garden
    Guitars crawling around, papers reading the ground. Monday, Tuesday, Fridaynight oh, what a beautiful sight. And it's spring 1983. Life begins. OK I did it so far, built me a garden. A splash in the world. And that's my hedge. I said that's my hedge. I said... So now what. I have to define each day. It soon will be May. Life takes so long, give me a break. Unsatisfied feelings: piss, fuck off. OK. I know. Me. From this side the sight so bright. From this side the sight so BRIGHT.
